Yesterday, the Earlswood project hosted members of the Severn Trent Water Directed Delivery Commercial Team for a site visit and update on progress.

This October, Colin Hailing, Head of HSEQT, will be representing Montel at the BHSEA Annual Conference 2026 in Solihull, joining health and safety professionals to explore this year’s theme, ‘Brave Conversations – Driving Safety Through Influence’.
Across the day, the focus will turn to something that sits at the heart of good health and safety: people. The sessions will explore leadership, self-awareness, difficult conversations and how positive influence can help create safer workplaces.
Taking those conversations beyond the Conference will be equally valuable, giving Colin the opportunity to reflect on the ideas shared, challenge thinking and consider how those lessons can support the work we’re already doing across Montel.

Judith Whiting, Senior Quantity Surveyor, turned a childhood dream into reality at 40 when she finally became a horse owner, after her children’s involvement in Pony Club inspired her to get in the saddle herself – and she’s been a proud ‘happy hacker’ ever since.
Tim Carpenter, Regional Estimator, has spent 35 years pursuing his passion for cycling and continues to compete with Exeter Wheelers, a club with more than 100 years of cycling history.
Sophie Rebecca Green, Senior Quantity Surveyor, has enjoyed more than 15 years of competitive hockey and proudly represents Torbay Hockey Club, bringing her passion for the sport to every game.
Peter Unitt, Commercial Manager, is a keen golfer who has competed over the years, including taking his game overseas for an annual golf tournament in Spain.
Alice Stewardson, Head of Communications & Marketing, has worked her way to brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, training under Professor Vanessa English – a European Champion and the first British-born BJJ competitor to win an IBJJF World Championship.

Next stop: BHSEA Annual Conference 2026.
This October, Colin Hailing, Head of HSEQT, will be representing Montel at the BHSEA Annual Conference 2026 in Solihull, joining health and safety professionals to explore this year’s theme, ‘Brave Conversations – Driving Safety Through Influence’.
