Integrated Delivery Team

The project was championed by South Staffs Water and Integrated Water Services supported by a very experienced, multi skilled team from Montel who were able to function effectively in the face of uncertainty.
The key to the success of this project was the genuine collaborative effort of all parties involved. Through working in partnership with our supply chain throughout the pandemic, we were still able to help the client deliver improvements to the water supply without incurring delays to their program.

Adopting a Collaborative Strategy

Our supply chain partners were fully integrated into the project team prior to construction and invited to join the progress meetings giving all parties the opportunity to benefit from the collective experience and best practice. We organised collaborative planning meetings to ensure their specialist knowledge was incorporated into the project delivery.

Encouraging Innovation and Learning

With our specialist sub contractor, we were able to undertake a complete re-design of the bridge abutment piling scheme to increase the number of piles but decrease their size and installation costs. It meant a smaller rig could be used and the clients’ concerns about affects to an adjacent existing 32” cast iron water main and pressure on the adjacent Bourne Brook concrete walls were reduced. Adding in steel sleeving to the piles reduced their concern further.
